Hazel M. Jones' Obituary
Hazel Marie Jones of Preston, MD, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, April 11, 2008 at Talbot Hospice House in Easton, MD. She was 87 years old.
She was born July 6, 1920 in Oak Hall, VA, the daughter of the late Norman and Mabel Pilkington Thomas.
She was a homemaker and had attended the United Methodist Church in Centreville and Christ Episcopal Church in Stevensville. She was a former member of the Kent Island Homemakers Club.
She is survived by four children, Thomas L. Jones, Sr. and his wife, Phyllis, of Denton, John A. Jones, Sr. and his wife Veronica, of Chester, Marie J. Thompson and her husband, Thomas, of Easton with whom she had made her home for the past three years, and James C. Jones of Preston; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1great-great-grandchild, a sister Kathleen Taylor of Church Hill, a brother Robert W. Thomas of Easton, several nieces and nephews. Her husband of 65 years, George A. Jones, Sr., preceded her in death as did a son, George A. Jones, Jr. and two sisters, Frances A. Hulliger White and Agnes Swann.
Funeral services will be held Wed. April 16, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Dan Walker officiating. Interment will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wed. from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
