Helen Ann Taylor's Obituary
Helen Ann Taylor (Bookie) passed away on Monday, December 22, 2014, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Maryland
where she was surrounded by family and friends after fighting her battle with cancer. She was born November 1, 1935 in Reids Grove, Md. Helen was the daughter of the late Guy Sr. and Helen Hollerman Harding.
Helen attended Vienna High School, where she enjoyed playing basketball. She enjoyed designing floral arrangements, and having large gatherings with family and friends in which she loved preparing enormous amounts of scrumptious food. After 20 years of service, she retired from the Eastern Shore Hospital Center; she also worked at Jim’s Drive Inn and Bumble Bee Tuna. Helen was a member of the Sharptown American Legion, and Cambridge Moose Lodge. She was also active in fundraising for Relay for Life, and The Pleasant Day Adult Day Care Center.
On May 22, 1965, she married Richard Taylor (Dicky), in which they have been married for 49 years. In 1972 they made their home in Hurlock, where they currently reside. She is also survived by 4 daughters and 2 sons ; Wendy Conn & husband Steve of Cambridge, Mike Bramble & wife Ann of Federalsburg, Lorrie Jean Gray of Hurlock, Jeff Bramble & wife Genia of Laurel, Del., Christy Stewart of Federalsburg, a step-daughter Tammy Murphy of Salisbury, sister Doris LeCompte & husband Gary(Pert) of Hurlock, brother Guy (Buddy) Harding, Jr. & wife Sharon of Shiloh, sister Betty Lowe (Sissy) of Cambridge, sister Sharon Hurley & husband Earl of Reids Grove, brother-in-law James Condon of Cambridge, 27 grandchildren & 15 great-grandchildren. She also has 3 Special Family Members and 1 Special God daughter, Cathy Bramble of Vienna, Robert Thomas of Hurlock, Sam Shelly of East New Market, & Lisa Vickers of Delmar, Delaware, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father Guy Harding Sr., mother Helen Hollerman Harding, sister Linda Mae Condon, daughter Dianna Bramble, grandson Robert Zackary Thomas, great granddaughter Sydney Bramble, a brother-in-law Wilber (Piney) Lowe, and a step-son Todd Mays.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Reverend Scott Conn officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Friday evening and one hour prior to the service on Saturday
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons Steve Conn, Jr., Billy Bramble, Kyle Glime, Sam Abey, Jr. and special friends Sam Shelly, and Donnie Willey. Serving as honorary pallbearers are grandson Mike Bramble, Jr., nephews Mark Lowe, Gary LeCompte, Jr.
