Miss Helen will never be forgotten. Just thinking of her brings a smile to my face. Such wit is legendary. Always named our favorite lunch at school, loved those cinnamon topped rolls with ham!! Rest in peace, you earned it.

Linda, was saddened to have learned of the recent passing of your mom. I remember her when she was the assistant manager at GHS's cafeteria lunch program. I can still recall some of the culinary entrees prepared by your mother, Betty Breeding, Hazel Zych and others, each day...ranging from the oven-baked chicken, pizza (was more like lasagna, unlike your typical slice today), spaghetti w/meat sauce, the hot turkey w/gravy and grilled cheese sandwiches, and savory soups to the Thanksgiving and Christmas specials served each year. I also remember your mom's cheerful disposition and positive attitude as she and her staff welcomed students at lunchtime each and every day...and her warm welcome as we passed through the serving line to the checkout counter...where we picked up our milk and/or ice cream treats. The Greenwood school cafeteria, back then, was well known for its lunch program...and your mom along with some of the others were exceptional employees, preparing/serving a nutritious hot lunch to students every day. Lunchtime, for me, was often the highlight of my school day...owing in part to your mother's commitment to providing a hot lunch to those of us who were able to take advantage of those tasty meals...a bargain at 25 to 35 cents! May your mom's soul find comfort and peace, knowing that she gave a lifetime of service and devotion to the food and nutrition program at Greenwood, and later Woodbridge schools. Blessings and peace. Helen has been a dear friend of our family for most of her life. My father treasured her friendship as I did. He became 20 years younger when he spoke to her. I enjoyed and learned so much from our many phone conversations and I aspire to be more like Helen. I'm grateful for having Helen in my life and I'm sure she is now enjoying her loved ones in Heaven. I will never forget you, Helen, and you will always be in my heart.
