Henry Clay Porter's Obituary
Henry Clay Porter, Sr. of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He was 91.
He was born November 15, 1919 in Hobbs, MD the son of the late George Porter and Eliza Trice Porter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel West Porter on Nov. 15, 1989.
He was an auto mechanic and a farmer. He was a World War II Veteran serving his country in the United States Army and was honored with a bronze star. He was a life time member of the VFW Post 5236 of Federalsburg and a member of the Threshermans Association.
He is survived by five children, Myrtle Dukes and her husband, Pete, of Seaford, Sharon Dulin and her husband, Donald of Denton, David Runnels and his wife, Susan, Henrietta Robinson, and her husband, Mike, Henry Porter, Jr. and his companion, Debbie all of Federalsburg, sixteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and special friends, Irene and Phyllis Buckle. He was preceded in death by a son, George Henry Porter, a grandson, James F. Coulbourne, II, a great-grandson, Josh Trice, a brother, Ernest Porter, two sisters, Edith Fortney and Dorothy Williams, and his companion, Mildred Wheatley.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-2 on Saturday.
