H. Nona Medford's Obituary
H. Nona Medford of Easton, and formerly of Federalsburg, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2011 at William Hill Gardens in Easton.
She was born in Cambridge, MD, the daughter of the late Walter F. Rumbley and Phila G. Turner Rumbley.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, and playing bridge. Since she enjoyed serving with civic activities she served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross helping during crisis and getting military people home. Nona was a member of the Union United Methodist Church in Federalsburg where she served in the Senior Choir. She also was a member of the Junior Auxiliary of Memorial Hospital at Easton, the Board of Hill Crest Cemetery where she served as Treasurer, a board member of the Easter Seals, member of the Board of Directors for Medford Petroleum, Inc., past president of the American Lung Association of Maryland, past president of the Committee of the Lung Association of the Metropolitan Maryland, Virginia, and District of Columbia Association, member of the Upper Shore Council of the American Lung Association of Maryland, past president of the Federated Women’s Club, past president of the Caroline Chapter of the Soroptimists International, and a charter member of the Caroline Country Club.
Nona was the beloved wife of the late Roger Medford, loving Mom of Pam Epprecht and her husband, Mike, Priscilla Medford, and Bill Medford, and his wife Robin; dearest “Muffet” of granddaughters, Heather Foster and her husband, Bill, and Cassandra Medford, and great-granddaughter, Claire Foster; dear sister of Nannie Mason; sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Union United Methodist Church in Federalsburg with Rev. Harrell Pitsenbarger and Rev. Don Clendaniel officiating.
