Holland Melvin Fisher's Obituary
Holland Melvin Fisher of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Envoy of Denton. He was 73.
He was born on March 9, 1941 Frances Fisher of Seaford, DE. He was raised by the late Harry Silbereisen and Ruth Morris Silbereisen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lorenz Fisher on July 29, 2011.
After graduating from the police academy Holland began his career as a police officer serving the communities of Rehoboth Beach, Blades, Seaford, Greenwood, and Preston. He served 32 years in Preston and retired as Police Chief in 2004.
He is survived by a three children, Donna Flack of Cambridge, Holland Lee Fisher of Milford, Virginia Ruth Ann Fisher of Magnolia, DE and step-son, Terry L. Pindell ,Jr. and his wife Stacey of Denton, MD, 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, four siblings, Mitchell Fisher and Darwin Fisher both of Harrington, Horace Maloney of Greenwood, DE and sister, Norma Lee O’Day of Bridgeville, DE and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Allen Fisher.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Fred Barr officiating.
The family has requested that donations be made in his memory to Preston Volunteer Fire Company P. O. Box 44 Preston, MD 21655.
