Irene K. Chambers' Obituary
Irene Kenton Chambers of Preston, MD passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at her home. She was 86 years old.
She was born Aug. 31, 1923 in Choptank, MD, the daughter of the late
Charles V. and Matilda Emma Lubba Kenton. Her husband, Raymond W. Chambers, preceded her in death on June 26, 1976.
She had worked at the Preston Elementary School, and had worked at
several area grocery stores including IGA and Chances Store. She was a poultry grower, last growing for Allen Poultry.
She is survived by a son Wayne Chambers (Geri) of Stockton, MD, three daughters Linda Humphries (Donald) and Elaine Wroten (Roger), both of Preston, and Donna North (Jimmy) of Seaford, DE; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and several step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren; two sisters Betty Lou Lare (Tony) of Preston and Wanda North (Bill) of Henderson, MD, many nieces and nephews, and a devoted caregiver Cassy Jopp.
Beside her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers David W. Kenton, Charles H. Kenton, and Franklin N. Kenton, and two sisters, Alice Perry and Audrey Mae Willoughby.
Funeral services will be held on Wed. March 24, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the
Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Pastor Thomas Becker officiating. Interment will follow in Junior Order Cemetery in Preston. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wed. from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m.
