Irvin Richard Hopkins, Sr.'s Obituary
Irvin Richard Hopkins, of Harrington, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford. He was 90.
He was born on September 9, 1926, a son of the late Phillip Hopkins and Sadie Williamson. On July 15, 1944, he married the former Leona Johnson, who preceded him in death.
Irvin attended schools in Caroline County. In January of 1945, he entered the United States Armed Forces where he served in the Navy as a seaman first class until 1946.
He is survived by two sons, Irvin Richard Hopkins, Jr. of Seaford and Howard Lee Hopkins of Harrington; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Besides his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter Linda Lou Shank.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 12 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Reverend Howard "Buddy" Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at Junior Order Cemetery in Preston. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Blvd., Milford, DE 19963.
