James Cordrey's Obituary
James Hackett Cordrey of Cokesbury, Maryland, near Reliance passed away on Monday, September 4, 2006 at Christiana Medical Center. He was 66.
He was born July 4, 1940, the son of the late Kenneth Lee Cordrey and Anna P. Hackett Cordey.
He was a graduate of North Dorchester High School, class of 1958. He was a grain and poultry farmer and also grew produce. He was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, current President of Cokesbury Cemetery Board, current President of Cokesbury Community Center, member of Delmarva Poultry Industry, and a member of the Dorchester County Farm Bureau.
He is survived by his wife of almost 47 years, Barbara Ellen Dege Cordrey, who he married on September 12, 1959, two children, James Lee Cordrey and his wife, Betsy of Seaford, Catherine Ann Scott and her husband, Larry of Cokesbury, five grandchildren, Casey Lee Johnson, Amber Lyn Johnson, Justin James Cordey, Macey Lee Cordrey, Jenna Leigh Scott, two sisters, Ruth Harding of Cokesbury, Jeannette Wheatley of Federalsburg, faithful friends, Adam Henderson and Laura Mooney, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. John Nalley at Rev. Linda Mariner officiating. Interment will follow at Cokesbury Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 7-9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
