James Fisher's Obituary
James “Jimmy” Fisher passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Talbot Hospice in Easton, Maryland. He was 64.
He was born on March 10, 1953 in Easton, Maryland, the son of the late George Wilson Fisher and Bessie Gertrude Bodell Fisher.
He graduated from Easton High School with the class of 1971. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army. Following his discharge, he returned home to Easton and began work as a carpenter for Donald Foster and later for his brother, P.E. Moore in Trappe. He later opened his own construction contracting company, James W Fisher Contracting.
He was a member of the Easton Church of God, past member of the American Legion, and Past President of the Preston Lions Club. He was a football and baseball coach for the Caroline County Youth program. He enjoyed playing darts, baseball, and was on a softball team for many years.
He is survived by a son, Nicholas Fisher of Preston, MD, a daughter, Abby Fisher of Preston, a brother, Paul Moore of Trappe, a sister-in-law, Bessie Moore of Trappe, three nieces Sherri Taylor, Laura Moore, and Donna Moore, six nephews Eddie Moore (Jenny), Jonathan Moore (Summer), Ricky Moore, William Moore, Jr. (Annette), Grant Phillippe, and Walkie Taylor (Rosemary), an aunt Anna Mae Fisher of Easton, his companion, Karen Drinks of Easton, and five cousins, Delores Mulliken, Emma Fisher both of Easton, Don Ganshaw (Lorraine) of North Carolina, Kenny Fisher of Linkwood, and Jeanie Haymaker, as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers Bill Moore, Sr., John Moore, his twin brother Sammy Fisher and a sister Virginia Phillippe.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 11:00 at the Easton Church of God with the Pastor Keith Maxwell and Pastor Bob Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00.In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Framptom Funeral Home, 216 North Main Street, Federalsburg, MD 21632 to help defray funeral costs.
