James Muir's Obituary
James Keter Muir of Preston, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2008 at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore. He was 79.
He was born on March 3, 1929 in Gloucester, New Jersey, son of the late Robert Muir and Andreta Keter Muir. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Muir.
He was a graduate of Gloucester High School. He served his country enlisting in the United States Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. He was a life member of the VFW of Federalsburg Post 5246 and a member of the American Legion of Denton Post 29.
He was a truck driver for the former Service Trucking and also for Jones Trucking Co. He loved going out to lunch every day and every Friday night he enjoyed playing pool.
He is survived by his brother, Robert E. Muir and his wife, Sallie of Federalsburg, a sister, Jane Andreta Horner of Williston, and his beloved dog, Peep.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock with Rev. Howard “Buddy” Dunn officiating.
