James T. (Jim-Jim) Ferguson, Jr.'s Obituary
James T. Ferguson, Jr. James T. “Jim-Jim†Ferguson, Jr. of Easton died at his home on Friday, November 21, 2014. He was 66. Born on May 28, 1948, in Talbot County he was the son of the late, James T. Sr. and Frances Wack Ferguson. Jim-Jim as he was known by all attended public school in Talbot Co., and Military school in Virginia. He graduated from Easton High School and began a career as a builder/ handy-man in and around the Easton, St. Michaels area. He later attended Chesapeake College as a student and an instructor. Jim-Jim was a life member of the St. Michaels Fire Department Station 40. He became a member in December 1977, and has served 37 dedicated years. He was Past Secretary, and served of the Board of Trustees as well as, serving on many fire department committees throughout his tenure. Jim-Jim was also Past President of the Talbot County Fire & Rescue Association, Past President of the Delmarva Firemen's Association, and Past President of the Eastern Shore Firemen's Association. In 2002-2003 he was appointed to the Executive Committee of the Maryland State Firemen's Association. He also served on the Maryland State Firemen's Association Convention Committee, Parade Committee, and 17 State Circle. In 1998 Jim-Jim was inducted into the Maryland State Firemen's Association Hall of Fame, as well as the Talbot County Fire & Rescue Association Hall of Fame, Delmarva Firemen's Association Hall of Fame, and Eastern Shore Firemen's Association Hall of Fame. Jim-Jim will truly be missed by many. He is survived by a son; Matthew Wood (Stefani) of Boonsboro, MD., cousins; Mary Jane Wyant (Shannon), Norman Shannahan (Thelma), Jack Shannahan (Faye) all of St. Michaels, Bill James (Sandy) of Royal Oak, Tyna Westman (Jack) of Vermont and Candy Fender (David) of Florida. He is also survived by his former wife Catherine Cooper. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the Ostrowski Funeral Home 312 S. Talbot St. St Michaels, MD., from 5:00 until 7:00PM. A funeral service with Fire Department Honors will be held at the St. Michaels Fire House on Wednesday December 3, 2014 at 11:00AM. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Michaels Fire Dept. 1001 S. Talbot St. St. Michaels, MD. 21663.
