James William Travers, Jr.,68, departed this life on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at home.
He was born September 22, 1951 in Baltimore, MD, son of the late James William Travers Sr., and Rita Travers.
James was educated in Dorchester County School System. James worked at the Eastern Shore Hospital Center, Robinson Chemical, and retired from Maryland Wire Belt. He was a hard worker.
James was an excellent hunter and fisherman. He taught others how to hunt especially deer hunting. He loved to take his boat out and enjoyed fishing. James loved the peace he received from fishing. James had a lot of trophies that he won from fishing tournaments.
James leaves to cherish his loving wife Estella Travers, 6 children, Shermaine Perkins, Jamie Travers, Amy Travers, Jennifer Dockins (Lamar), Shanika Travers, Jason Travers. Also, a father to Fred Demby (Bonita), April Fletcher (Latraun), Michelle Lyons(John), 13 Grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, 4 sisters Christine Anderson (Theodore), Rev. Elsie Ennals (Oliver), Lois Dillard (Ivory) and Lucinda Thomas(James). One uncle Bedford Johnson Sr., 5 aunts Lucille Mason, Connie Mae Perry, Mary Molock (Otis), Pauline Molock (Bobby), and Barbara Molock. A host of other relatives.
He loved Lamar, Fred and Latraun as his own sons. His loving wife never left his side.
Other than his father, he was proceded in death by a son James William Travers (3rd), a sister Betty Travers, a brother Edward Mundy and other relatives.
A drive-thru memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Living By Truth Ministries, 807 Chesapeake Drive, Cambridge, MD.
