James Lee Dolby, Sr.'s Obituary
James Lee Dolby, Sr. passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Caroline Home for Hospice in Denton surrounded by his family. He was 91.
He was born in Dorchester County on February 28, 1918, the son of the late John Dolby and Lucy Cannon Dolby. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret E. Darling Dolby on June 23, 2003.
He was a mechanic for the former Noble Motor Rebuilders in Easton, Maryland and loved working on tractors and cars. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Denton.
He is survived by a daughter, Ruth Newnam and her husband Dave, of Bethlehem with whom he resided, two sons, James Lee Dolby, Jr. (Helen) of Baltimore, and John Charles Dolby (Diane) of York, PA, 4 grandchildren, Ted “TA” Haapala, III (Cheryl), Charlie Davidson (Deb), Karen Bennett (Rick), and John Dolby (Tammy); 8 great-grandchildren, a brother, Charles Dolby of Salisbury, MD ; two sisters, Doris Lomax of Cordova, and Gladys Hartzell of Bridgeville, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves “Missy” his faithful toy poodle companion. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two daughters, Carol Dolby and Louise Dolby, 2 grandsons, James Dolby, III and Michael Wahl, four brothers, Melvin Dolby, William “Bill” Dolby, Arthur Dolby, and Raymond Dolby, and three sisters, Elsie Coleman, Bessie Christopher, and Florence Darling.
Funeral services will be held on Monday January 25 , 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home, P.A in Federalsburg with Pastor Dustin Ives officiating. Interment will follow in Junior Order Cemetery in Preston. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
