James W. Elliott's Obituary
James W. Elliott of Seaford, DE passed away on Friday, April 29, 2011 at the Seaford Genesis Center. He was 82.
He was born on August 28, 1928 in Elkton, MD, the son of the late Walter Elliott and Lona Easton Elliott.
He served his country in the United States Army and United States Navy and was a World War II Veteran and Korean War Veteran. He served twelve years on different police forces including, former chief of police in Greensboro, MD, an officer for the Seaford, DE and Easton, MD, Police Departments, the Department of Natural Resources and also was a private detective. He also worked for the Memorial Hospital in Easton for six years. He was a maintenance man and electrician at Chesapeake College at Wye Mills for thirteen years until his retirement in 1991.
James was a member of the Seaford VFW post #4961 and the American Legion Post 6 in Seaford.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Morgan Elliott, a son, Ervin Elliott of Dover, DE, two daughters, Valrice Morgan and her husband, Melvin of Cordova, MD, Lona Elliott of Seaford, DE, four step-children, Keith Jester and his wife, Brenda of Longs, SC, Diane Bergh and her husband, Alfred of Sharpsburg, GA, Michael Jester and his wife, Cindy of Exeter, CA, Larry Jester and his wife, Denise of Bridgeville, DE, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Porter.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Pastor Tom Richard officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Hill Crest
Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
