Jan Henry Ricketts Dekker's Obituary
Jan Henry Ricketts Dekker of Preston passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013. He was 37.
He was born on March 31, 1976 in Inverness, Scotland, the son of Dirk Henry Ricketts Dekker of Easton and Patricia Henderson Dekker of Federalsburg.
He graduated in 1994 from North Dorchester High School. He continued his education at Lincoln Tech and became a master auto mechanic technician. He worked for over seventeen years for the Preston Automotive Group and most recently Koon’s Toyota in Easton.
He loved cars, especially Porsche’s, motor racing, motor cross, and working on music systems, playing video games, and loved all kinds of animals. He loved his Scottish and Dutch heritage and they were both so important in his life. Jan will be known for his love to help others out and will always be remembered as a kind person.
Besides his parents he is survived by his sister, Carla Dekker of Easton, an aunt, Leslie Jennings and her husband, Martin of Edinburgh, Scotland, three cousins, Raedmond Jennings of Shanghai, China, Piers Jennings and Kit Jennings, both of London, England.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 1p.m. at Framptom Funeral Home, PA in Federalsburg. A visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. and from 12-1 on Saturday.
