Jan F. Page's Obituary
Jan F. Page Tilghman, Jan Frances Page of Tilghman passed away on Tuesday March 1, 2016 at Genesis Healthcare “The Pines†in Easton, Maryland. She was 96. Born on December 31, 1919 in London, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late John W. Sturgill and Leona West Sturgill. During WWII she worked as a supervisor for the Bendix and Glenn L. Martin Co. in Baltimore. While in Baltimore, she met and married William F. “Bill†Page of Tilghman in 1942. Following the war, the couple made their home on Tilghman Island. In the 1960’s Mrs. Page was a Ward Clerk at Easton Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Page was an active member of the Tilghman U.M.C. where she helped initiate the “Helping Hands†Project. Her husband Bill was a fine decorative decoy carver, and she painted all of his birds. They displayed their decoys at The Waterfowl Festival in Easton. Mrs. Page also operated a bed and breakfast in Tilghman for years. Mrs. Page was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years William F. Page, and her children Shirley, Ken, Brenda, and William F. “Mickey†Page, Jr., and her brother Hubert Sturgill and his wife Iris. Mrs. Page is survived by her son, Stephen R. Page and his wife Mary Ann of Tilghman; Six Grandchildren - Lexa Fitzgerald (Patrick), Jordan Page (Mary), Krista Roark (Sean), Debra Eonta (Joe), Lee Barnes (Mary Kay), and Tammy Hicks (Richard); Sixteen Great Grandchildren - John Page, Andrew Page, Veronica Page, Josephine Page, Judah Page, Thomas Page, Kathryn Fitzgerald, Benjamin Roark, James Roark, Alex Eonta, Carson Eonta, Matthew Barnes, Adam Barnes, Jared Barnes, Chasity Blackburn, and Andrew Hicks; Two Great Great Grandchildren - Alonyi and Jameson Blackburn; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday March 14, 2016 at the Tilghman United Methodist Church. Friends may call one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Tilghman Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tilghman United Methodist Church Tilghman, MD. 21671. Arrangements are by the Ostrowski Funeral Home P.A. St. Michaels, MD.
