Jane S. Jones' Obituary
Jane Slagle Jones of Cambridge, passed away at her home on Monday, November 12, 2007 surrounded by her family. She was 83.
She was born on March 22, 1924, the daughter of the late Carlton M. Slagle and Loleta E. Wilson Slagle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. Jones.
She and her husband had owned Pier Street Marina in Oxford. Her hobbies included, traveling, gardening, and boating. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda J. Freeman of Cambridge, a son, Woodrow W. Jones, Jr., “Jerry”, and his wife, Doris of Cambridge, four grandchildren, Lori F. Knox and her husband Rodney of Cambridge, James W. Freeman and his wife, April of Easton, Woodrow E. Jones, III,
”Jerry”, and his wife Cindy of Cambridge, Clint S. Jones and his wife, Jen of Cambridge, nine great-grandchildren, Josh T. Knox, Jonathan M. Knox, Justin I. Knox, Carrie Jones, Thomas Jones, Mason Jones, James W. Freeman, III, C. Harrison Freeman, and Caleigh Freeman. She was preceded in death by a grandson, John W. Freeman, and a brother, Carlton M. Slagle.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Old Trinity Church Cemetery in Church Creek with Rev. Kevin English officiating.
