Janet L. Blades' Obituary
Janet L. Blades of Federalsburg passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, Delaware. She was 67.
She was born on October 29, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of the late Henry Alfred Hiltz and Mary James Hiltz.
She graduated from Dundalk High School in 1965. She married Thomas Blades on April 12, 1970. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years for Esskay, and later for Wheatley Trucking. She enjoyed volunteering at the First Church of God where she served as treasurer, taught Vacation Bible School, crafts, and helped in the kitchen. She also volunteered at the Federalsburg Vol. Fire Company serving as Secretary and later was the Chairman of Membership. She was also a delegate of MSFA.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Thomas Blades of Federalsburg, a daughter, Tammie L. Boyd and her husband, Robert and their children Alex, Sammie, Janna, Rhianna, of Colorado Springs, CO; a son, John Blades and his Girlfriend Angie of Federalsburg and their children Kristin, Alyss, John and Ozma, and a special cousin, Dennis LeBrun of Dundalk, Maryland.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 10:00 am at the First Church of God in Federalsburg with Pastor Peter Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 at the church.
