Janet Kelley Lawrence's Obituary
Janet Mae Kelley Lawrence of Cambridge, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at her residence. She was 82.
She was born on June 1, 1931 in Preston Maryland, the daughter of the late Elmer T. Kelley and Mildred Mallonee Kelley.
Janet Lawrence graduated from Towson State in 1952 and taught school in California for many years. Later she moved to Dover, Delaware and then Daytona Beach, Florida where she raised her family. She obtained a master’s degree from Florida State University. She then worked for the University of Georgia until her retirement at which point she moved back to the eastern shore of Maryland.
She was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Cambridge, the Alter Guild, and the Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by three children, Richard Lawrence of Virginia Beach, VA, Geoffrey Lawrence of San Jose, CA and Kathryn Lawrence Spada of Fort Lauderdale, FL. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, and a sister, Edith Humphreys of St. Leonard, MD.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home, Federalsburg, MD. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
