Janice W. Moore's Obituary
Janice Wheatley Moore of Hurlock, MD passed away on Sat. Jan. 21, 2012 at Chesapeake Woods in Cambridge, MD. She was 91.
She was born May 12, 1920 in Galestown, the daughter of the late Julius W. and Nellie Bowman Wheatley. Her husband of 26 years, George Glenwood Moore, preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Hurlock High School, and had worked as a bookkeeper for Warwick Corporation for over 30 years. Mrs. Moore was a member of Unity-Washington United Methodist Church in Hurlock for 50 years and served as Financial Secretary for 10 years. She enjoyed the monthly outings and time spent with the “Lunch Bunch.”
She is survived by a daughter and special son-in-law with whom she resided, Mayor Joyce A. Spratt and Joseph of Hurlock, a son Ronald S. Moore and his wife Virginia of West Palm Beach, FL, 5 grandchildren, Scott Reagan, Lisa Schmitt, Annie Murray, Stewart Moore and George Glenwood Moore, 8 great-grandchildren Nicholas Schmitt, Kristen Tune, Katey Franklin, Jennifer Moore, Justine Moore, William Moore, Michael Murray, and Ronnie Moore, 2 great-great-grandchildren Cayden Tune and Lilli Tune, a special grandson-in-law Eugene Schmitt, and two very special friends Dottie Andrews and Edna Walker, both of Hurlock. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Angelene Howard and a brother William Wheatley.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Unity-Washington United Methodist Church with Rev. Glen Lyburn and Rev. Ruth Tull officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park in Cambridge. Friends may call at the church from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
