Janill Hill, Sr.'s Obituary
Janill Hill, Sr., passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, DE. He was 88.
He was born on April 28, 1932, in Carrsville, VA, to the late Moses Hill and Rollie (Reese) Hill. He was one of 5 children. Janill relocated from Virginia to the Eastern Shore, Maryland, where he worked as a civil engineer for 45 years for the Town of Federalsburg before retiring in 1997.
He enjoyed fishing, traveling, working on cars, talking to his friends, watching Orioles baseball and The Steve Harvey Show, and providing for his family.
Janill is survived by his sister; Essie Sherrin of Carrsville, VA and one sister-in-law; Joyce Rose of Hurlock, MD. He was blessed with 6 children, daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Larry Friend, Sr. of Dover, DE, son and daughter-in-law, Melvin and Quintina Robinson of Seaford, DE, daughter, Patricia Collier of Federalsburg, MD, son and daughter-in-law, James (Archie) and Regina Hill of Cambridge, MD, son, Janill Hill, Jr. (Junior) of Federalsburg, MD, and daughter, Paris Twyman of Federalsburg, MD. He has 18 grandchildren, Larry Friend, Jr., Elvon Friend, Melvin Robinson, Jr. (Junie), Beatrice Robinson, Teresa Harris, Arlinda Robinson, Belinda Robinson, Janill Robinson, Lisa Robinson, Leah Robinson, Sherri Robins, Tasha Aikens, Donyale Holbrook, Janill Hill, III (Buck), Alisha Hill, James Hill (Scooter), Dont’e Twyman, and Dr. Bont’e Twyman-Abrams (Nikki). He was also blessed with 58 great grandchildren; 19 great-great grandchildren; four godchildren, Hattie Cannon, Terry Cannon, LaWanda Atkinson, and Randall Cannon all hometown of Federalsburg, MD; one nephew and niece-in-law, Lamont and Denise Rose of Hurlock, MD; one niece, Beverly Teagle of Seaford, DE; and a host of cousins and friends. Janill’s special cousin was William Woodson of Jacksonville, NC. His close friends were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Quillen of Federalsburg, MD and Pastor Stanley Ricketts of Federalsburg, MD.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 67 years, Delores Mae Hill, one brother, James Willis (Clayman); 2 sisters; Jessie Faulk and Bessie Parker, and one great-granddaughter, E’Quanna Duncan.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020, at 1pm at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg, MD, with a visitation from 11-1pm prior to the start of the service. Interment will be held on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 10am at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, MD.
