Jay Edward Digges Ruark's Obituary
Jay Ruark passed away Monday, November 28, 2022. He was 84.
Born March 31, 1938 in Baltimore, MD, the son of the late Edward Gordon Ruark and Julia A. Ruark.
He graduated from Milford Mill High School in 1956, attended Johns Hopkins and graduated from the University of Baltimore in 1962.
From there he joined the United States Air Force serving many years. He met and married his love Lt. Sandra King on April 10, 1965.
In 1974 he became a computer systems analyst working for SM Hyman in Baltimore, Datapoint and Wang Labs/Getronics.
Jay also served in the Coast Guard Auxiliary from 1986-2001.
He is survived by his wife Sandy, a daughter Lisa Wencloff and her fiance Chris Brennan, a son E. Alan Ruark and his wife Melissa of Easton, and two grandchildren, Jacob Wencloff of Renton, WA and Sarah Wencloff of Federalsburg, a nephew Edward Ruark of Renton, WA.
He was preceded in death by his infant sister Mary Caroline and brother Gerald Gordon Ruark.
Jay also loved trains and built a garden railroad in the back yard. He was also an avid reader and loved doing crossword puzzles and cryptograms. He will be missed by one and all!
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock, MD.
