Jean M. (Agne) Kusler's Obituary
Jean M. Kusler
Plainsboro N.J. Jean M. Kusler of Plainsboro, N.J. died at the Merwick Rehab Hospital & Nursing Care-LTC/HB on Wednesday, September 14, 2011. After living a full and vibrant life of over 90 years, she suffered a fall in July from which she never recovered.
Born on June 20, 1921 in Newark, N.J. she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Lillian Agne. After a high school romance, she married John E. Kusler, Jr. Shortly thereafter, John was deployed to serve in the European front in WWII. They made their homes in various places, where Jean was a devoted mother and homemaker. While Jean often considered herself basically a “Jersey Girl†at heart, John and Jean settled in St. Michaels, Md. in September, 1990 after John’s retirement and enjoyed a wonderful, active life there with their many friends until his death in 2002. In 2006, Mrs. Kusler moved back to New Jersey to be her daughter’s neighbor and to keep her out of trouble!
While in St. Michaels, both Jean and John were members of, and active within, St. Luke’s Church. Jean participated in many projects that utilized – and exhibited – Jean’s extraordinary skills with handcrafts – particularly knitting.
Mrs. Kusler is survived by two children; John E. Kusler III of Newburyport, MA. and Rita J. Kusler of Plainsboro, N.J. there are also 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at the Hurley & Ostrowski Funeral Home P.A. 312 S. Talbot St. St. Michaels, Md.
Burial will be in the Olivet Cemetery, St. Michaels.
For those wishing to remember Mrs, Kusler, please send flowers directly to the funeral home. John Kusler spoiled his wife over their many years together with his love and skills with flowers. Jean always cherished their beauty.
