Jean Hubbard Chance Arnie's Obituary
Jean Hubbard Chance Arnie, formerly of Lewes, DE and Preston, MD, passed away at Morningside House at Satyr Hill in Parkville, MD on February 16, 2016.
She was born June 13, 1932 in Easton, MD, the daughter of William Harold Chance and Lucy May Hubbard Chance. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles H. Arnie on May 19, 2013.
She was a graduate from Preston High School Class of 1951. Jean was a homemaker, and also worked alongside her husband at the Black Kettle Restaurant in Preston, MD. She later worked at Black and Decker in Easton, MD and retired from there after several years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Preston, and later became a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Rehoboth. Jean along with her husband, enjoyed vacationing in Chincoteague with family and friends. Jean enjoyed painting, gardening, and doing various crafts. She was a loving and devoted mother. Her greatest joy was spending time wither her grandchildren and family.
Jean is survived by three children, Patti J. Heare and her husband Jerry of Baltimore, MD; Ray C. Arnie and his wife Rose Ann, of Federalsburg, MD; and Jeffery A. Arnie and his wife Karen of Mrytle Beach, SC; five grandchildren, Joshua Arnie and his wife Shannon of Salisbury, Md; Jordan DeMuth and her husband Scott of Nottingham, MD; Joseph Arnie and his wife Lindsey of Cambridge, MD; Jeremy Heare of Baltimore, MD; and Samuel Arnie of Charlotte, NC; two great grandchildren, Caroline DeMuth of Nottingham, MD; and Weston Arnie of Salisbury, MD; three sisters, Dorothy Ann Chance Lord of Federalsburg, MD; Evelyn Mae Chance Stafford of Greensboro, MD; and Phyllis Chance Butler of Denton, MD.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Reverend Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will follow at Junior Order Cemetery in Preston. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
