Jeffrey Raymond Buckley's Obituary
Jeffrey Raymond Buckley of Preston, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 4, 2024 at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center - Easton. He was 62 years old.
Born on March 8, 1961, Jeff was the son of Shirley Kwasnicki Buckley and the late Raymond Buckley. He was educated in Talbot County and was a member of the Saints Peter and Paul High School class of 1979.
Early on Jeff developed a love for growing things and being in the great outdoors. This was evidenced by one of his first jobs being at Hilly's in Easton. Jeff also worked for several years at Airpax, but eventually found his true passion in landscaping. In 1990 he and his brother started Buckley Brothers Landscaping and around 2001 they started Buckley Brothers Nursery which is still in operation. In the off season Jeff also worked at Suicide Bridge Restaurant throughout the 1990s and into the early 2000s.
When not working Jeff could be found doing most anything outdoors from fishing to hunting to golfing just to name a few. One of his big interests was hunting for arrowheads which he often did with his daughter Jessica. Jeff was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.
Jeff married Donna Willoughby on January 1, 2000 and they made their home in Preston.
Left to cherish Jeff's memory is his wife Donna; his mother Shirley; his daughter Jessica Buckley and step-daughter Ashley Compton (Shane); his grandchildren Kaila Raye Porter, Bailee Raye Noble, Madison Crew, and Calee Crew; his great-grandchildren Paislee Raye Erdell and Malakai Raymond Knee. He is also survived by his brother Kevin Buckley (Barbara); his nieces Emily Buckley and Kelsey Buckley; his nephew Zachary Buckley; and his aunt Ann Carney.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents George and Anna Buckley, and Charles and Ann Kwasnicki; his Aunt Cookie; and his uncle Horace Carney.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 8 at 2:00 at Buckley Brothers Nursery, 4371 Wilhan Lane, Preston, MD. Memorial donations in Jeff's name may be made to The Preston Volunteer Fire Co., 3680 Choptank Rd., Preston, MD 21655.
