Jeffrey Scott Chambers' Obituary
Jeffrey Scott Chambers passed away peacefully while at home with family in Hurlock, Maryland on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. He was 68 years old.
Born in Easton, Maryland on March 22, 1956, Jeff was the son of the late William Edward Chambers, II and the late Gladys (Meredith) Chambers. He grew up in Federalsburg, was educated in local schools, and he graduated from Colonel Richardson High School in 1974. Following high school Jeff began his career in the local automotive industry fulfilling many different roles, but mechanic would describe him the best. Jeff worked for Levi Chevrolet and Bishop's in Federalsburg. He also spent a number of years with Preston Ford, and he eventually retired from Wayside Body Shop in Denton.
Jeff married the former Debra Schmick at Immanuel Lutheran Church on August 15, 1981. They had together two children and made their home in Hurlock. In his free time Jeff could be found outdoors fishing, crabbing, hunting, or gardening. He enjoyed NASCAR. But more than anything he enjoyed being a grandfather to his beloved granddaughters.
Besides his wife Debra, Jeff is survived by his daughter Natalie MacGilfrey and son Matthew Chambers (Shannon); his three granddaughters Madelyn MacGilfrey, and Caroline and Ridgeleigh Chambers; his brother Gary Chambers (Marcia), his sister-in-laws Doris Chambers and Laura Corey; his nephews Scott and Mark Chambers; and his nieces Laura Dolin, Jenni Chambers & Ashley Osborne.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother William Edward Chambers, III.
A memorial service for Jeff will be held at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg on Saturday, July 27, 2024 starting at 1pm. His family will receive family and friends starting one hour prior at Noon.
