Jerod Deon Kimble's Obituary
On October 9, 1990 in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, a ray of sunshine was given to Jerry Kimble and Urshell Wongus-Chase known as Jerod Deon Kimble, Sr. Jerod (as he was affectionately known) was a resident of Hurlock, Maryland and received his formal education in the Dorchester County public school system. Jerod graduated from North Dorchester High School in June of 2008 and was pursing higher education at Universal Technical Institute for Automotive Training in 2010. Jerod most recently attended Full Sail University for Music and Entertainment. Although he was young, Jerod was a man of many talents.
He was known for his charm, keen sense of fashion and passion for music. Jerod was known in the music world as “RastaRocka.” Rasta served as the president of the Triple G’s and musical producer. Jerod held various positions and served as youth advocate in his community. His charm, passion and infectious smile touched many lives in numerous ways.
Jerod was cut from a different cloth; very ambitious, charming and driven for his age. He wanted to invoke change and worked hard to do so. Jerod would attend community meetings and strive to help make the voice of his community was heard at the highest political level.
Jerod made his transition from life to rest at the age of 26 on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, Delaware.
Jerod is survived by his parents, Jerry Kimble of North Carolina and Urshell (Bernard) Chase of Hurlock, MD. His brothers; Jerry T. Kimble (Hurlock, MD), JaQuan Kimble, and Noah Barrett (North Carolina). His sisters; Quyeasha Kimble, Jerrysha Kimble and Dominique Kimble (North Carolina). Step-sisters; Ronnesha Chase and Tyneka Chase (Cambridge, MD). Maternal grandparents; Vanessa and James (Ronald) Dobson (Hurlock, MD), Bradford and Carolyn Bolden (Easton, MD). His children; Destiny Johnson (Shabria Johnson), Jerod Kimble, Jr. (Tymekia Cephas), Jerriah Kimble (Shaquia Murray), Jeremiah Askins (Myisha Askins), and Jamari Kimble (Zykeria Dobson). His nieces; Janiylah Kimble and Quyjhanelle Ballard. His nephew; Ameir Jones. Aunts; Melinda Turner (Hurlock, MD), Tormeka Forman (Champagne, IL), Mary (Michael) Williams (NC), Dorothy Silver (NC), Leora Kimble (NC), Viola (Ann) Kimble(NC), Jerline Kimble (NC), uncles; Kevin (Veronica) Brummell (Easton, MD), Bradford Bolden, Jr. (Easton, MD), William (Virginia) Conyers (NC), Chester (Gwendolyn) Kimble (NC), Morris (Chonder) Kimble (NC) and David Kimble (NC). A host of great aunts, great uncles and cousins.
Jerod leaves to cherish his memory a very special lady that he jokingly called his wife Mrs. Ellen (Eleanor) Brown.
He also leaves to cherish his memory his godfather Ira “Duane” Roach III, and god-brother Delayne Stewart who had a very special love for him.
Although blood makes you family, the bond that Jerod shared with Dwight Cephas, Tramonta Smith, Timothy Smith, Willie Jackson, Terrance Conaway, Mervin Henry, Jr., Adrian Keene, Dion Johnson, LaTrey Johnson, Jamar Holley, Ja’onte Ancrum, Kevon Spencer, Tony Rich, Cantrell Johnson, Terry Wongus, Brandon Kellogg, Arsenio Wright and Dionyious Butler was an extension of his family.
Jerod was proceeded in death by paternal grandparents Nelson and Viola Kimble, uncle Louis Kimble, maternal great grandparents Lewis and Catherine Wongus and paternal great grandparents Shirley Brummell and Alfred Batson.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the North Dorchester High School in Hurlock. Interment will follow at Thompsontown Cemetery in East New Market. Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
