Joan D. Hammon's Obituary
Joan D. Hammon St. Michaels, Joan Darlene Hammon of St. Michaels, died at the Talbot Hospice House, Easton, on Sunday, December 6, 2015. She was 69. Born on August 12, 1946 she was the daughter of the late Samuel R. and Verda L. Ervin Brobst. Joan grew up in Grasonville and then graduated from Stevensville High School in 1964. She then worked for a short time before becoming a fulltime homemaker, to raise her family. After her children were older, she began working at J.C. Penny’s in Easton, where she remained for 33 years until her retirement in 2013. Joan really enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the V.F.W. with her sister Shirley, dancing and listening to music. She loved her flowers and vegetable gardens. Last but not least, she also enjoyed soft crabbing, fishing, and feeding her songbirds! She is survived by her sons’ ; Trevor Hammon and his wife Holly, of Bozman, Travis Hammon and his wife Tonya, of Royal Oak, a sister; Shirley A. Seward of Easton, four grandchildren; Colby, Madison, Logan, Ashton, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she thought the world of! In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother; Wayne A. Brobst, four sisters; Regean E. Owens, Lorraine Y. Pope, Marlene L. Ervin, and Phyllis J. Rada. Funeral services will be held at the Bozman United Methodist Church, Bozman, MD on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 1:00 pm where a viewing will be held from 12 noon until 1 pm. Burial will be in the Broad Creek Methodist Cemetery, Bozman.
