Joan Kirsch's Obituary
Joan E. Kirsch of Preston passed away on December 16, 2023 at Talbot Hospice. She was 85.
She was born on December 19, 1937 in Preston, Maryland, the daughter of the late John and Lela Engerman.
Joan attended Preston School to grade 10 and graduated from North Dorchester High School in 1955. She worked for 34 years at A.W. Sisk & Son, Inc. in Preston. She also was a licensed Cosmetologist. She worked for Preston Automotive Group part-time for 9 years as a driver after she retired.
In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, dancing, baking and trying new recipes. One of her favorite places to be was outside gardening or tending to her flower beds. She loved to spend time with family and friends. She was also a member of the BPOE Elks Lodge #1622 and Harrington Moose Chapter #1229.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charles N. Kirsch. Also preceding her in death was her sister Betty Kenton and brother-in-law Charles Kenton.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Van Offeren, her husband Jan and a grandson, Larsen.
The family would like to thank the many wonderful Doctors, nurses and staff that took care of her at Candle Light Cove, UMD Shore Medical Center Easton, Autumn Lake Cambridge and Talbot Hospice. A special thanks to Dr. Melinda Butler.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg on Friday, December 22, 2023. A graveside chapel servce will follow at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, MD.
