Joan C. Travers' Obituary
Joan C. Travers of Seaford, DE, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Greenwood Rest Home in Greenwood, DE. She was 68.
She was born on May 17, 1947 in Salisbury, Maryland, the daughter of the late William Collison and Wilsie Lewis Collison. On July 19, 1967, she married the love of her life, Harold Travers. He preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 2010.
Joan graduated from Colonel Richardson High School class of 1966. Before becoming a homemaker, she had worked for Zaffrey’s Bakery and Fox’s Store both formerly of Federalsburg. She attended Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Reliance. Her hobbies included refunding and doing needlework.
She is survived by two brothers, John Phillips of Federalsburg, MD, and Bill Collison and his wife Jean of Seaford, DE, two sisters-in-law, Norma Murphy and her husband Glen of Seaford, DE, and Minnie Phillips of California and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Phillips.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 12:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00.
