Joanna Wooters Harrison's Obituary
Joanna Harrison, age 78, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026. Born on May 29, 1948, she lived a life defined by a quiet generosity, creative passion, and an unwavering devotion to her family.
A master crafter, she poured her heart into everything she made-from handmade Cabbage Patch dolls and Pound Puppies for her children, to intricate homecoming dresses and countless projects that followed. She was known for gifting her creations not just to family and friends, but to coworkers and even total strangers who happened to admire them. Her talent was matched only by her desire to share joy with the world.
Early in her career, she spent many years working as an assistant manager at Maryland National Bank before choosing to return home to dedicate herself fully to raising her children. Once her family was grown, she returned to the workforce at the Giant in Easton, where she was incredibly glad to have made many wonderful, lasting friendships.
For many years, her home was the vibrant hub of the neighborhood. It was a place where the doors were always open, the pantry was always full, and a new craft was always waiting to be learned. Because of her welcoming spirit, it was a home that was never quiet and never lonely. A dedicated Girl Scout troop leader and her daughters' biggest cheerleader, she never missed a sports game or a milestone.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Edgar Harrison; three loving daughters, Candace Harrison, Pamela Lapides (husband, David Lapides), and Nikki Harrison (fiancé, David Boglioli). She was the proud grandmother of Chelsea Lane (husband, Shawn Lane), granddaughter Margot Lapides, and grandson Kratos Boglioli. She also leaves behind two cherished great-grandchildren, Aleks Karayilan and Kaylee Lane.
Additionally, she is survived by her loving sisters, Laura Bishop and Sherrie Wooters; brother Carl Wooters; as well as a community of extended family and friends whose lives were made warmer by her presence. Joanna is preceded in death by her brother, Alfred Wooters Jr.; her mother, Barbara Wooters; and father, Alfred Wooters.
There will be a private graveside service followed by a public celebration of her life that will be held on August 01, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Easton VFW.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you perform an act of quiet kindness or create something beautiful for someone you love, just as she always did. Donations in her name to the Alzheimer's Association or the Lyme Disease Foundation are also deeply appreciated.
