Joanne K. Stewart
Denton, Joanne Kinnamon Stewart of Denton died at the Memorial Hospital, Easton, on Friday April 19, 2013. She was 49. Born in Easton, MD; on December 28, 1963 she was the daughter of John C. Kinnamon of Tilghman and the late Wanda Birmingham Kinnamon. She attended Tilghman Elementary School and graduated from St. Michaels High School in 1981. In 1982 she married her High School sweetheart Lawrence H. “Larry” Stewart III. Joanne worked as a sales clerk at J.C. Penney until the birth of their first child in 1983; when she devoted herself to taking care of her family. Joanne enjoyed working in her garden, attending to her beautiful flowers, and spending time on the water crabbing with her father. She also loved music and was an adept musician, having played the piano, clarinet, tenor saxophone, and trumpet. She was very proud of getting her CDL license, needing to parallel park a dump truck to get it! Most of all, Joanne loved spending time with and caring for her family. In addition to her beloved husband, and father, Joanne is survived by three children; Lawrence H. Stewart IV of Owings Mills, MD., Lindsay H. Stewart and Logan H. Stewart both of Denton, a brother; J.C. Kinnamon (Christy) of Tilghman, two sisters; Debbie Swann of St. Michaels, and Susan Kinnamon of Easton, her sister-in-law Lauren S. Mitchell (Steve) of Easton, mother-in-law Barbara Stewart of Summerfield, FL., and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM at the Ostrowski Funeral Home, St. Michaels, MD., on Thursday, April 25, 2013. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to Lindsay and Logan’s team for the M.S. Challenge walk at http://www.challengemdm.nationalmssociety.org or to the Talbot Hospice Foundation 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD. 21601.
