Joe Louis Ancrum, Sr. of Cambridge, MD passed away on Sat. Feb. 12, 2011
at Mallard Bay Nursing Home in Cambridge. He was 64.
He was born Dec. 12, 1946 in Summerville, SC, the son of the late Jacob Green, Sr. and Verdell Ancrum Green.
He worked for local poultry companies and had also worked for the former Harper & Bateman in Hurlock. Joe enjoyed listening to music including Jazz and Blues
as well as watching old Western movies.
He is survived by his children, Larry Friend of Denton, Anissa Robinson (Tim) and Tonya Ancrum (June), all of Federalsburg, Joe Ancrum, Jr. and Jermaine Ancrum, both of Hurlock, MD; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, a brother Jacob Green, Jr. (Carolyn) of Rhodesdale, MD, 2 sisters Eva Mae Smith and Evyonne “Kitten” Ramirez (Mario), both of Hurlock; many nieces and nephews; friend and former wife Joyce Ann Smith, and 3 close friends Leon Smith, Sr., Brent Osbourne and Charles Smith.
Memorial services will be private.
