John Francis Farrell's Obituary
John F. Farrell St. Michaels, John Francis Farrell of St. Michaels, died at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center, Easton, MD. on Sunday, January 11, 2015. He was 90. Born on January 1, 1925, in Cumberland, MD. he was the son of the late Leonard and Mary Lambert Farrell. After completing his High School education he served with 17th Air Borne Division during WWII in the European Theater. After the war he competed his college education at St. Vincent’s College in Latrobe, PA., graduating in 1950. He then subsequently enlisted in the U.S. Navy and under the officers’ training program became a commissioned officer. He served on board Navy destroyers while on active duty, then served in the reserves retiring as Lt. Commander. Following his military career, he worked for G.E.I.C.O. insurance retiring in 1986. Mr. Farrell is survived by his wife of 43 years. Marjorie Farrell whom he married on December 9, 1972. His four children; John, Christine, Michael and Leslie. Also a step-son Frank (Jennie). A Chapel service will be held at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery- Eastern shore, Hurlock, on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the St. Michaels Fire Dept. 1001 S. Talbot St. St. Michaels, MD. 21663. Arrangements are by the Ostrowski Funeral Home 312 S.
