John James Krieger, Jr.'s Obituary
John James Krieger Jr. of Easton, Maryland, passed away on October 11, 2024, at the age of 88. John was born to John Sr. and Mary Burke Krieger on August 13, 1936, in Shamokin, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Shamokin Area High School in 1954, John moved to Washington, D.C., before serving in the United States Army and Army Reserves. After being honorably discharged from the Army, John began working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation before returning to school to further his education.
Learning was a passion of John's, as he achieved undergraduate degrees from Benjamin Franklin University and the University of Maryland at College Park, and a graduate degree from George Washington University in Accounting and Finance.
John worked for almost 60 years in various areas of business and finance in both Maryland and Colorado. This included time working as Vice President and CFO of American Finance, and President and CEO of GEFCO. Soon after retiring, he realized that the retirement life was not for him. He pursued further education and licensure, and eventually settled into his most favored profession of financial advisor and stockbroker for Morgan Stanley, RBC Wealth Management, and lastly Folger Nolan Fleming Douglas.
Giving back to the community was important to John, as he spent many years serving on various community agencies' Board of Directors. One close to his heart was the Benedictine School in Ridgely, Maryland, where he served for 38 years in honor of his son David, who has been a client of the Benedictine School for almost 50 years.
John is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, as well as his children, David Collins, and Kelly Holden (Ryan), and his beloved granddaughter Taylor. He will be missed dearly.
Services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Benedictine Programs (Adult Services/Community Living Program), 14299 Benedictine Ln., Ridgely, MD 21660, or through their website at benschool.org.
