John Robert Sammons, Jr.'s Obituary
John Robert Sammons, Jr of Seaford, DE passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Tidal Health at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, DE. He was 52.
He was born on April 6, 1970 in Milford, DE, the son of the late John Sammons Sr. and Judith Darlene Donovan Sammons.
After his education, he worked most of his life as a mechanic and in construction. He was married to Tara Hignutt on December 6, 1997 and they made their home in Seaford.
John was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, working on his trucks, drooling over them "square bodies" and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was known to pick on those he loved, joke around constantly and aggravate to no end. Leaving no one out. A true family man that will be missed by all he knew and loved.
He is survived by his wife Tara Sammons of Seaford, three daughters: Shelby Green and her husband Matthew, Sierra Sammons and her husband Kyle, and Summer Sammons and her partner Toni all of Seaford; one nephew raised as a son: Jason Musselman and his wife Nicole of Bridgeville; seven grandchildren: Kensley, Maverick, Jaxton, Gunner, Ayden, Andrea and Gauge; two siblings: Jerry Sammons of Federalsburg, Sandie Sammons of Seaford, a step-mother Dorothy Sammons of Seaford , his father in law, Gregory Hignutt and his wife Brenda of Seaford; in addition he is survived by two sister in laws; Lisa Marley (Dan), Marissa Vinson (Steve), two brother in laws; Jeremy Hignutt (Amy) and James Hignutt, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Peggy Massey Hignutt.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday March 19,2023 at the Seaford Moose Lodge at 2 pm.
