Alan and Don:
Hoss and I were so sad to hear the news about Uncle Johnny. I recall a trip out west your parents made in the mid 80's and was very appreciative that they took the time to come and see us in Sacramento while they were out here. I have fond recollections of fun time spent and lively conversations on the porch of their home in Preston. On one visit, I remember Uncle Johnny taking me to a Lion's Club function, 4th of July?, in Preston where I was lucky enough to win a cake at a cake walk. I can visualize Uncle Johnny in his vegetable garden with lima beans, asparagus, grapes, loofahs, and all sorts of things growing. I remember that Uncle Johnny said that to make cantaloupe sweet, to use borax and Epsom salts in the soil. I have many great memories of spending time with both Uncle Johnny and Aunt Addelle. Uncle Johnny was a strong, vibrant, caring individual who did a lot for many over the years. Alan and Don, you are both in our thoughts and prayers and I know that your own good memories of Uncle Johnny will help lessen the loss.
