John W. "Billy" Stanton Sr.'s Obituary
John W. “Billy” Stanton, Sr. of Federalsburg passed away on Monday, May 6, 2013 at his home. He was 64.
He was born on January 2, 1949 in Washington, DC the son of the late Jack Stanton and Vangie Jones Stanton.
John served in the US Army First Cav. Division in Vietnam from 1968-1969. After his service he worked as a heavy equipment operator in demolition and construction. A simple man who loved his family and grandchildren; he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone. He loved his ’69 Road runner and attending car shows, the Dallas Cowboys, and was an animal lover.
He is survived by a son, MSG John Stanton, Jr. and his wife, Julie of Averill Park, NY, a daughter, Stacey Stanton of Alexandria, VA, four grandchildren, Nathan Stanton, Leni Stanton-Parker, Jacklyn Stanton, and John Stanton, six step children, Steven Kotlarsic and Bobby Kotlarsic both of Waldorf, MD, Cassandra Willis of Cordova, PFC Ryan M. Pinder of Germany, PVT Leeann M. Pinder of Texas, and Alexandra N. Pinder of Federalsburg, and a sister, Vi Negra of Dellance, GA. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Willis Stanton who passed away on September 24, 2012.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 10:00a.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home, PA in Federalsburg. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
