John Bert Thamert

John Bert Thamert, 61 of Neavitt, Maryland passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 surrounded by his son, and brother. Born in Easton, Maryland he was the son of the late Belle Ball and George Carroll Thamert, Sr. He graduated from St. Michaels High, Bert moved back to the Neavitt Family Home over 10 years ago to help care for his parents in their later years.
He was preceded in death by his parent's and his second wife, Carol Thamert as well as a grandson, Landon Thamert.
Bert is survived by his son; Sam Thamert of Ridgely, Maryland, (and his mother Lorraine Renshaw) his grandson; Weston, of Ridgely, Maryland a brother; Carroll Thamert, Jr. (Bobbie) of Salisbury, MD; his niece; Katie (Belfield) of Elkridge, MD; his nephew; Jeff (Amy) of Salisbury (their children; Kailey and Caleb), his "adopted" brother; Forrest and his special friend, Martha Bogan of Neavitt, Many aunts, cousins and friends; and especially by his three beloved dogs; Alex, Winnie and Wilma.
Bert not only loved his dogs, but he also loved photography, playing music on all types of instruments, singing and bird watching. He also loved talking on his Ham radios. Bert coached Little League Baseball for a few years and played softball in the Talbot Softball League. He worked until he became disabled as a Rad Tech and Nuclear Med. Tech. He worked previously at the Memorial Hospital, Easton; Dorchester General, and the MD. Correctional System, Sinai Hospital, ALARA Radiology Services and Alpha Diagnostic Services.
He was a member of past member of; Bay Hundred Cert; MD responds Medical Reserve Corp; Easton Amateur Radio Society; American Relay League, RACES/ARES; Sky Warn; National Association of Search and Rescue; S.M.V.F.D. American Society of Radiographic Technologist; MRST; DRST;VRST; and Wheels that Heal.
The last few years, Bert's health has taken a toll on him being in and out of hospitals and nursing homes. He is now at Peace, Home with the Lord.
A Graveside service will be held in Bert's memory at the Neavitt Cemetery, Neavitt, MD. On Friday September 2, 2022 at 10:00AM
