John Andrew Gulick's Obituary
John Andrew Gulick passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012. He was 64.
He was born on May 13, 1947 in Steubenville, OH, the son of the late Michael Gulick and Anna Marut Gulick.
He received his bachelor’s degree from West Liberty College in 1970 and his Masters Degree in education from Salisbury University in 1991. He worked for over thirty years as a teacher for Caroline County Schools. John taught several grades in elementary schools, and most recently, science at Lockerman Middle School.
John was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Preston where he was involved with many activities at the church. He was a past member of the Lions Club in Preston. He was president of the Preston Little League for many years and later served as a softball coach. His many hobbies included golfing, rooting for the Redskins, gardening, traveling, and spending time in Rehoboth with his girls.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Janellen Rieck Gulick whom he married October 11, 1975; three daughters, Jessica G. Witteman and her husband, Jason of Tacoma Park, MD; Jacquelyn Gulick and her fiancée Joshua Ayers of Washington, D.C.; and Janelle Gulick of Ft. Collins, CO; and a sister, Joan Mueller and her husband Marlin of Weirton, WV.
Funeral services for John will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Preston with Rev. Thomas Becker officiating. Interment will follow in Junior Order Cemetery in Preston. Friends may call at the church from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday.
