John Dawson "Johnny" Wells, Sr.'s Obituary
John Dawson Wells, Sr. “Johnny” of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at his home.
He was born March 10, 1935 in Eldorado, Maryland the son of the late John Dawson Wells, Sr. and Ruth Rebecca Lord Bradley.
He had worked as a mechanic for most of his life in which he had been previously worked at Harrison Moore, M & L, A & R, Burris Foods, and for Levi Saunders. He was known as a “jack of all trades” and enjoyed collecting junk. Johnny enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, ,and to hang out with his buddies at McDonalds.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Barbara Ann Robbins Wells, three children, Joyce Ann Crandell, Michael Robbins, both of Federalsburg, John Dawson Wells, Jr. and his wife, Judy of Hurlock, six grandchildren, Shawn Wockenfuss of Federalsburg, Shawn Duffy, P.J. Duffy, Leo Duffy, all of Baltimore, Yolanda Priestly of Millsboro,
DE and Heber Johnson of Federalsburg, five great-grandchildren, David Lawley, Makayla Johnson, Mikey Priestley, III, Aaron Priestley, and Skyler Wockenfuss, and two brothers, “Mung” Wells, and “Pee Wee” Wells, both of Secretary. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Wells, and a daughter, Linda Duffy.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wed. from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
