Joseph Kirby Bradley's Obituary
Joseph Bradley, Grandpa Joe, died at his home in the company of his family, at the age of 78.
He was born in Easton, Maryland. A majority of his childhood was spent on the Eastern Shore in the Town of Preston, and Salisbury, Maryland. He graduated from Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring. He served 4 years in the Air Force leaving with the rank of Airman 1st Class. He retired in 1988 after a 27 year career with AT&T in Washington, D.C. area.
During his life, he enjoyed playing Country &Western Music on his guitar; building and flying, model airplanes, and collecting model trains. Grandpa Joe spent much of life repairing and restoring classic cars and was an active member of the National Thunderbird Club International and the local Potomac Thunderbird Club. In retirement, he motored around in his RV catching fish in the Florida Keys and on the bay by Fenwick Island, Delaware. He particularly enjoyed sharing the joys of the Boardwalk of Ocean City with his family; grandsons and great grandchildren. Meals always included cheese burgers at the Atlantic Stand, Thrashers French fries, Dumpsers Ice Cream and quarters were generously doled out to his grandsons.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, his son, two grandchildren and two great grand children, his sister, a niece and nephew and their respective families.
Graveside services will be held at the Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery, 115 Main Street, Preston, Maryland on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Karen Handy officiating. Arrangements by Framptom Funeral Home.
