Joyce K. Collins' Obituary
Joyce K. Collins of Federalsburg passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Compass Regional Hospice in Centreville, Maryland. She was 75.
She was born on May 23, 1947 in Easton, Maryland; the daughter of the late Clarence "Vic" Williams, Jr., and Dorothy Mae Collins Williams.
Growing up on the family farm in Federalsburg, Joyce graduated from Colonel Richardson with the class of 1965. After her education, she worked at E.I. DuPont. While raising her children, she owned and operated her own craft shop. She went on to work as a florist at Lucy's Flowers in Federalsburg for many years.
Joyce loved her family and always put everyone else above herself. Her passion was her home: family and grandchildren were her everything. She was a member of Park Lane Church of God in Federalsburg for many years.
She is survived by two sons: James Collins and his wife Mary of Preston, and Elwin Collins, Jr and his wife Mary Ann of Kingsland, GA; grandsons Reece Collins of Preston and Brendan Collins and his wife Taylor of Decatur, GA; three step-daughters: Kim Banks and her husband Kevin of Laurel, DE, Kay Carrier of Ocean City, MD, and Lisa Phillips and her husband Alan of Laurel, DE; and a sister Laurene Lord and her husband Gerald of Federalsburg and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 11:00 at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Bishop Ray Parsons officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00.
