Joyce Mae Jacobs' Obituary
Joyce Mae Jacobs of Federalsburg passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at her home. She was 82.
She was born on March 24, 1933 near American Corner, Caroline County, Maryland the daughter of the late Charles Walter Moore, Sr., and Berzetta Allen Tull Moore.
She was educated in the public schools of Caroline County. She was married to Francis Jacobs who preceded her in death on March 25, 1983. She was a sewing machine operator for the sewing factories in Federalsburg and Hurlock and later worked for Sunshine Laundry. She later performed quality control at Solo Cup in Federalsburg. After her retirement, she became a foster grandparent at Federalsburg Elementary School.
She was a member of the Federalsburg VFW Post #5246 Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of the Federalsburg Vol. Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by four grandchildren, Diana Patchett of Preston, Scott Frase and his wife Holly of Preston, Nikki Morris and her husband Wade of Preston, and Doug Thompson of Sandtown; nine great-grandchildren, Emilee, Olivia, Ali, Hailey, Madison, Mallory, Mitchell, Katelynn and Sydney; her favorite daughter-in-law, Tina Jacobs of Hurlock; two sisters, Elinore Meredith of Federalsburg and Sarah Ann Archer of Dover.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Frase and a son, Vaughn Jacobs; three brothers, Ralph Moore, Charles Moore, and Roger Moore; two sisters Jeanette Fisher and Hazel Mister; and a step-sister Stella Flood.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 2:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Reverend Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00.
