Juan Manuel Santiago, III's Obituary
Juan Manuel Santiago, III passed away with his loving family by his side at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. His battle with cancer was short but courageous. Juan was a resident of Hurlock, MD, a student at North Dorchester Middle School, and 14 years old at the time of his passing.
Born in Milford, DE on September 19, 2011, Juan was the son of Dorothy Knorr and Juan M. Santiago, Jr. Known for his kind heart Juan was loved by many. He looked out for others, was the middleman who helped to keep the peace between his siblings, and made sure others were not being bullied. Juan was an intelligent young man who excelled in mathematics.
For fun, Juan loved playing and watching soccer. He was a devoted fan of Real Madrid and Ronaldo. As a young man who enjoyed life some of his favorite foods included fruits especially watermelon and pineapple. He couldn't pass up a good Chinese dinner, a slice of pizza, or his all-time favorite of a boneless spare rib combo meal. Juan was a unique spirit who joked that he was "built different". He touched many people and his passing will leave a void. Juan also loved to have family movie nights and couldn't pass up a good comedy movie with Adam Sandler. He watched Anime with all his brothers and cousins, at one point he called himself "I am Goku", right before he had to do an MRI with sedation. He was a loved kind soul who did not hate for anything.
Left to mourn Juan are his parents Dorothy and Juan, Jr.; his brothers Nathaniel Knorr-Schum, Jaime Peters, Nicolas Santiago and Leo Santiago; his maternal grandparents Barclay Knorr and Germania Knorr; his paternal grandparents Juan Santiago, Sr. and Maria Morales; his uncles John Knorr, Jose R. Alisea, Jose J. Alisea, Juan C. Santiago, and Juan R. Santiago; and his aunts Narissa Knorr, Kalina Knorr, Megan Knorr, Irma Santiago, and Wilma Santiago. Also, left to mourn Juan are many cousins, friends, and schoolmates.
