Juanita J. Whaley's Obituary
Juanita J. Whaley of Seaford, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 61.
She was born on July 14, 1959 in Milford, the daughter of the late William E. Jerman and Delima Porter Jerman.
She graduated from Woodbridge High School with the class of 1977. Shortly after, she married her high school sweetheart Dennis Whaley on June 30, 1979 and they made their home in Seaford.
Over the years, “Nita” worked in Blades for Seaford Florist. She loved arranging flowers and took great pride in her work. In her free time, she loved working with her hands; arts and crafts, making things for her home and family. Nita also enjoyed camping. The family would often travel the region in their camper and enjoy spending time together.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Dennis Whaley, a son, Nicholas “Nick” Whaley and his wife Heather and a daughter, Holly Wheatley and her husband Christopher all of Seaford; seven grandchildren: Cody LeCates, Zachary LeCates, Collin Weldon, Jonathan Whaley, Christopher M. Wheatley, Gavin LeCates and Clinton Whaley; and two brothers: William “Bill” Jerman of Lincoln, and Harold Jerman and his wife Phyllis of Ellendale and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 14, 2020 from 10:00 to 11:00 at the Oakley Church in Ellendale. Due to COVID-19 Funeral services and burial will be private. Face coverings and social distancing will be in practice for all in attendance.
