Julia Cook's Obituary
Julia A. Dayton Cook of Selbyville, DE died at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE on Thursday, May 3, 2012. She was 74.
She was born on November 27, 1937 in Federalsburg, MD, the daughter of the late Eldridge E. Dayton and Kathleen Trice Dayton, and granddaughter of William B. Trice and Bertie Murphy Trice. She was a graduate of Federalsburg High School Class of 1955 and attended college classes for two years. She worked for C and P Telephone Co. in Easton, MD and for Preston Trucking Co. and for her husband, Norman as a secretary at Lednum and Trice Plumbing and Heating. She was a member of Preston Homemakers Club, Preston Garden Club, a Lioness in Preston Lions Club and helped with Preston Volunteer Fire Company’s carnival. She was a former member of Grace Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid Society, Ladies Missionary Society and worked to help establish Golden Shore Christian School and to get it accredited, faithfully supporting it until her health began to fail. She and her husband later moved to Fenwick Island and became members of Fenwick Island Baptist Church. She married Norman F. Cook, Jr. in 1955 and had 4 children; Caroline Kessler (Norman) of Felton, DE, Jeffrey S. Cook, Sr. of Gold Canyon, AZ, and twins, Stephen J. Cook (Haydee) of Secretary and Stephanie Anne Post (Dale) of Preston, MD, 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, two half sisters, Donna Steele and Wanda Cohee, RN, two half brothers, Jack Dayton and Ralph Dayton, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services for her will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Framptom Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg, MD with Rev. William Thomas officiating.
The family has requested that dontations be made in her memory to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963
