Justa Hubbard's Obituary
Sis. Justa Bea Elizabeth Collins Hubbard was born on the morning of November 22, 1936, to Dea. George Washington Collins and Sis. Naomi Honors Collins in Bartow, Florida. She passed away on December 21, 2015. She was 79 years old. She was converted at an early age, committing her life to the church by joining First Providence Missionary Baptist Church, Bartow, FL. She sang in the children’s, youth, and adult choirs. She represented numerous auxiliaries at conferences and conventions throughout the State of Florida and Maryland from an early age. Justa Bea attended and matriculated through Brittsville Elementary, Union Academy Junior and High Schools; The Board of Public Instruction, Bartow, FL. She was an excellent student academically, participating in numerous extracurricular activities including competitive sports, beauty contests, parades, and school fundraising drives. During her tenure in public schools, she became adept at singing and reciting poetry. One of her favorite poems is “If” from Rudyard Kipling. Justa Bea was a faithful member of Coppins African Methodist Episcopal Church in Jonestown for several decades. She was part of the Maryland Harmonettes. Justa Bea was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert Dennis Hubbard, a son Dwight Orlando Hubbard, two sisters, Peggy Joyce Andrews and Barbara Ann Smith, and a host of other close relatives and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Angela Williams (Charlie) and Twilla Hubbard Brice, a son, Wayne Fletcher, 8 grandchildren, Royanda Newcomb (Travis), Erneshia Pinder (Jerrand), Eria Young (DeWayne), Angela Williams (Lance), Tiara Harris, Gena Fletcher (Travis) DeWayne Fletcher and Pandora Elbert, 12 great-grandchildren, Devron, Baleigh, Sabrina, Elijah, Dallas, Kyrie, Zinna, Tiffany, Jordan, Tremir, Lewis, Taylor, 5 great-great-grandchildren, Joshua, Cy’Lynn, Josiah, Zion, Zania, 3 sisters Mae Bird Smart (Carlton), Carolyn Sue Bryant, and Nina Broadnax, 4 brothers, Charles Benito McGill, George Honors Collins (GlenEthel), Calvin C. Collins, and Rev. Claude V. Collins (Brenda), her brother and sister in Christ for over 21 years, Rev. and Joyce Fitchett, a special cousin, Artur Cooper, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, Samuel and Patricia Wright, (her adopted children), special thanks to Connie Friend, Christina Shepherd, Landes Hubbard, Cassie Butler, Rose Sharp, Debbie Turner and Darren Green. If anyone has been forgotten please charge it to our minds and not our hearts.
