Karen L Smith's Obituary
Karen Lynn Smith
A gift from God
Karen Lynn Smith passed peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024. Karen was born on September 20, 1956 to James T. Smith and Elaine Gayle Burns in Ft. Eustis, Virginia. She arrived in this world as a special gift from God.
Karen will always be remembered by those that knew and loved her for her welcoming smile and contagious laugh. She never met a stranger and due to her friendly nature made a strong impression on all that met her.
Although she had challenges to overcome in her life, she met them all with a good fight. As a result her Mom referred to her as "The Comeback Kid". Karen truly lived life to the fullest and her life serves as a reminder that our time on earth should be cherished.
Karen was a special girl to those that loved her, especially to her Mother, Elaine, who continued to care for her needs even though her own health was failing.
"Kaycee", as her family referred to her, loved watching "I Love Lucy " and "The Wizard of Oz" over and over again.
Karen is preceded in death by her Father, James T. Smith, her beloved Mother, Elaine Gayle Burns, stepfather, Robert "Bud" Burns, and brother, Michael Kevin Smith.
She is survived by her sister, Beth Griffin (Dale), and brothers, David Roberts (Kelly), and Darryl Roberts. Karen's memory will also be cherished by numerous extended family members.
A private graveside service will be held in Marysville, PA at a later date.
